Um estudo comparativo entre as famílias em risco psicossocial e na população em geral

Resumo

As competências parentais percebidas são uma dimensão relevante no estudo da parentalidade e que se relacionam com o bem-estar familiar e infantil. O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar e comparar as competências parentais percebidas entre famílias com menores em risco psicossocial e a população em geral. Foram entrevistados 131 pais acompanhados pelas Comissões de Proteção de Crianças e Jovens e 247 pais da população em geral, residentes na região do Algarve. Utilizámos a Escala de Competências Parentais Percebidas e um questionário sociodemográfico. Os níveis de eficácia parental percebida em ambos os grupos foram muito semelhantes aos observados com pais da população em geral, contudo as famílias em risco psicossocial mostraram-se menos satisfeitas com o seu papel parental que as famílias da população em geral. Estes resultados realçam a necessidade de promover a satisfação parental e o reajuste da eficácia parental como objetivo nas intervenções psicoeducativas em famílias em risco. São discutidas as implicações para as políticas sociais para este grupo vulnerável.
