El Impacto de la inteligencia emocional y la satisfacción laboral

En la mitigación del agotamiento profesional en el sector de la salud

Resumo

El sector de la salud, con sus altas exigencias y responsabilidades cruciales, expone a los profesionales a un riesgo elevado de agotamiento profesional (burnout). Este fenómeno, caracterizado por agotamiento emocional, despersonalización y disminución del sentido de realización personal, afecta no solo el bienestar de los profesionales de la salud, sino también la calidad de la atención brindada a los pacientes. En este contexto, la inteligencia emocional (IE) y la satisfacción laboral juegan roles fundamentales para mitigar los efectos del agotamiento y fortalecer el compromiso de los profesionales de la salud.
La inteligencia emocional, al permitir una mejor gestión de las emociones y las interacciones interpersonales, ayuda a los profesionales a enfrentar los desafíos diarios del sector. La satisfacción laboral, como mediadora, refuerza el impacto positivo de la IE al reducir los efectos del estrés y del agotamiento en el compromiso de los profesionales. Estas relaciones fueron exploradas en el presente estudio, realizado con 181 profesionales de la salud en un entorno hospitalario, adoptando un enfoque positivista e hipotético-deductivo con la metodología de ecuaciones estructurales (PLS). Los resultados de este estudio revelaron un impacto directo de la inteligencia emocional en el agotamiento de los profesionales de la salud, con la satisfacción laboral desempeñando un papel clave para moderar este efecto. Estas conclusiones destacan la importancia de implementar políticas que fomenten el desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional y creen entornos laborales propicios para la satisfacción, con el fin de reducir el agotamiento y fortalecer el compromiso de los profesionales de la salud con su institución.
