In this text, we analize the main similarities between the Cidade de Goiás’baroque architecture - which was founded in 1727, by the gold explorer Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva (1672-1740) – and the portuguese urban buildings design. The Cidade de Goiás is the most emblematic case of preservations of constructions of the portuguese colonial period in the Brazilian Mid-West region, which clearly allows us, identify several architectural features that resembles ancient edifications found in Portugal, specially in the southermost region.
