Características psicométricas do Brief COPE numa amostra de famílias em risco psicossocial

Resumo

As estratégias de enfrentamento são um constructo relevante na avaliação do contexto familiar, em particular nas famílias em risco psicossocial. O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar as características psicométricas e a estrutura fatorial do Brief Cope, que mede as estratégias de enfrentamento. Participaram 116 pais (80% mulheres, com uma média de idade de 35,30 anos) com menores e que beneficiavam de medidas de promoção nos serviços de proteção do Algarve. Para além do Brief Cope, também utilizámos um questionário sociodemográfico. Os resultados apoiam a retenção dos 28 itens, a aceitação da estrutura de 14 dimensões da versão original e mostram níveis satisfatórios de consistência interna. Apesar de algumas limitações, as propriedades psicométricas encontradas justificam a utilização deste instrumento com famílias em risco psicossocial.
