Portimão Museum: A laboratory for projects, ideas and partnerships

Interview with José Gameiro

Abstract

This essay was made with the objective to interview the scientific director of the Portimão museum, in order to perceive the mission and the involvement that the museum has with the region, as well as the strategies that have been taken in order to build bridges between culture and the local community. It was an informal conversation, where José Gameiro told us a briefly history of the museum, its journey over the eleven years since its inauguration, and the position that the museum occupies today, in both culture and Algarve region.
